World’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge opens

AROUCA, Portugal (CBS) – The new record holder for the world’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge is now open to the public.

516 Arouca bridge in Portugal is nearly 1,700 feet long. If that’s that’s not scary enough, the bridge is 574 feet up in the air and positioned right above a river.

The bridge cost nearly $3 million to build and will cost about $12 to cross.
