Meet Gunnar Owsley, he is a junior at Olivet High School.
Owsley said he has been in band since he was a freshman. He plays trombone in the marching band.
“The things that come to mind when I think of Gunner and being extraordinary are his willingness to improve in music and his sense of humor,” Olivet High School band teacher Mary Lynn Edwards said. “He is funny and he leads people not only in character but in music too. If he’s doing something, the kids follow.”
Owsley is also into theater and said the best things about being in a play are making people laugh and constructing the sets.
“He goes 100 to 150% and his acting ability is incredible,” Edwards added.
Owsley said he wants to pursue the arts after high school and hopes to attend Michigan State University.
