(WLNS) – The Pentagon is asking local police forces for help to protect 100 U.S. service men and women.

The request comes after Islamic state militants released a virtual hit list. Most of the military personnel on the list are from the Air Force and Navy. Those two services have led the air campaign against ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria.

A Pentagon spokesman says they do not believe militants got the information from a data breach but public records and social media could have played a role.
