ANN ARBOR, Mich. (WLNS)- “Hello there, your honor,” began 21-year-old Brain Earl Taylor at his trial on March 10.

He continued following the refrain of the pop singer Adelle’s “Hello,” and ending with “And your honor, I’m sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.”

Our media partners at MLive, in his rendition of the song, he apologized and promised to change his ways.

Taylor stood trial in Washtenaw County TrialCourt for unlawful imprisonment and carrying a concealed weapon. According to our media partners at Mlive,Taylor was arrested struggling with a man and holding a gun to his abdomen.

Taylor also had multiple felony warrants and was on parole at the time of his arrest.

However, Taylor has not given up on himself. According to Mlive, Taylor is trying to finish his business degree before he turns 26 and was asking for a lighter sentence.

Taylor was sentenced to 17 years in prison, but Trial Court Judge Darlene O’Brien said he was “obviously a talented young man.”
