OKEMOS, Mich. (WLNS) -- Williamston hosted Detroit Country Day at Okemos High School on Saturday in the Division 4 semifinal and this game was a true defensive battle.

Country Day scored the first points of the game on a short run to the outside, early in the second quarter, and it was an uphill battle for the Hornets from there. The Hornets were able to block the extra point to keep the game at 6-0.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — War-like imagery has begun spreading in Republican circles after the attack on the U.S. Capitol by a mob of President Donald Trump’s supporters, with some elected officials and party leaders rejecting pleas to tone down rhetoric calling for a second civil war.

In northwestern Wisconsin, the chairman of the St. Croix County Republican Party was forced to resign Friday after refusing for a week after the siege to remove an online post urging followers to “prepare for war.” The incoming chairwoman of the Michigan GOP and her husband, a state lawmaker, have joined a conservative social media site created after the Capitol riot where the possibility of civil war is a topic.

Small group of protesters gather outside of closed, guarded Texas Capitol on Saturday

AUSTIN (KXAN) — A small group of pro-Trump protesters were greeted by armed patrols outside of the Texas State Capitol on Saturday.

While the scene remains peaceful as of Saturday afternoon, the protests come as all 50 state capitols are being watched for possible unrest. The possibility of violence comes off the heels of the U.S. Capitol riots in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6 -- widely considered to be incited by President Donald Trump.
