Annual Pam Posthumus Signature Action Event raises money for neglected children


UPDATE 10:30 a.m. – Last night’s auction event raised $485,943 to prevent child abuse and neglect. The Michigan Children’s Trust Fund is a non-profit state agency that is a part of the Department of Health and Human Services. The auction is named in honor of Pam Posthumus, wife of former Michigan Lt. Gov. Dick Posthumus; she passed away in August 2010. 6 News This Morning anchor Chivon Kloepfer was the host for the event.

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley was in a singing mood on Wednesday as part of the annual Pam Posthumus Signature Action Event for the Children’s Trust Fund in Michigan.

CTF’s mission is to prevent child abuse and neglect. It funds more than 70 child abuse and neglect prevention councils serving all 83 Michigan counties.

Last year, fundraiser donors and sponsors raised $500,000.

Since it was created by lawmakers more than 30 years ago the trust fund has raised more than $60 million to help more than six million families.
