App lets users better voice their opinion in politics

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS )- Looking to get more involved in politics? There’s an app for that.

VoteSpotter is a mobile app that lets you find your elected officials, based on your address, alerts you to important votes from your legislators and even allows you to vote on whether or not you agree with their decisions. You can also contact them directly from the app via phone or email.

The app was created by the Mackinac Center, a Michigan based nonpartisan research and education institute. Mackinac Center Vice-President Micheal Reitz said that their goal in creating the app was to “promote engagement and dialog between residents and lawmakers.”

VoteSpotter was released in 2014 and has a four star rating on both the iTunes store and the GooglePlay.
