Body found face-down in Jackson County lake

MICHIGAN CENTER, MI (WLNS) – The body of a 60-year-old man has been found in a Jackson County lake.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. Friday at Center Lake in Michigan Center. As people were gathering for the annual Carp Carnival, our media partners at MLive say a young woman spotted the body.

She told a grandparent, who called 911.

The Jackson County Dive Team removed the body from the lake, which was face-down near a row of docked boats.

Blackman-Leoni Township Public Safety Deputy Director Jon Johnston confirmed the man drowned.

Police have identified the body, but they are working to notify the man’s family before releasing his name to the public.
