CEDAR POINT, Ohio (WLNS) – It’s one of the surest signs that summer is right around the corner; Cedar Point debuts a new thrill ride.
This spring the ride is a dive coaster called Valravn and it looks like coaster lovers won’t be disappointed.
StormTracker 6 meteorologist Jim Geyer, a roller coaster enthusiast (and our own coaster correspondent), will be taking a ride on the Valravn Wednesday morning.
Weather permitting, Jim will be broadcasting live on 6 News This Morning from Cedar Point as he tries to tame Valravn.
Cedar Point describes the ride as the tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster in the world.
Here’s what they say you can expect once you strap in:
Climb 223 feet into the sky before you’re held over the edge for 4 seconds. Then, it’s a 75-mph, 90-degree dive straight down toward the midway. Flip upside-down three times and plunge into a second dive during this 3-minute journey.
Sound like fun? Watch the video of a test run of Valravn and then tune in Wednesday morning when Jim adds one more coaster ride to the hundreds he has taken all across America.
