HOLT, Mich, (WLNS) – A community center owned by a local church is a total loss after the building went up in flames Sunday evening.

Delhi Township Fire Chief Brian Ball tells 6 News three people were inside the building when the fire started but made it out safely.

The building is a community center owned by Journey Life Church with a BMX skate park inside.

Witnesses told fire officials a foam pit burst into flames and that’s what caused the blaze to spread.

However, authorities say it’s too early to tell what exactly caused the fire.

Chief Ball says it took fire crews nearly 3 hours to put the fire out and at this time it’s still under investigation.

There were no injuries reported. Mason Fire, Lansing Fire and Ingham County authorities were all on scene.
