Community helps man who helped them

POTTERVILLE, Mich. (WLNS) – A community is coming together to help a man through a tough time who they say brings love and positivity to everyone he meets.

Tom Davison has been the General Manager at the Potterville Dollar General for the past 10 years, making an impact on those around him.

But now, Tom is fighting for his life.

“This doesn’t look good, but I believe in miracles especially when love is involved, and I’m praying for a miracle,” said Tom’s wife Leslie Green.

Tom was recently diagnosed with stage four non-small lung cancer, a disease that’s not caused by smoking. Green started a GoFundMe to ask for the community’s support paying medical bills.

In just three days, they’ve already raised more than $2,000, something that’s a big help for them, being that they have to pay for everything out of pocket.

“I’m very grateful to God for all he’s given me and done for me, cause I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for him and the people he put in my life,” said Davison.

Tom’s coworkers, who couldn’t go on camera because of store policy, say he was always around to help those in need.

And for now, the couple is just thankful for the community’s support.

“I appreciate everyone else that’s praying for him,” said Green. “There’s a lot of people praying for him.”
