JACKSON, MI (WLNS) – Consumers Energy workers are gearing up to repair any damage that may happen from this winter storm. How are crews preparing to keep you safe?
Spokesperson Brian Wheeler says it’s something they are prepared for.
“Like anybody else, we’re watching the weather too. We’ve been watching all week to know that this storm is on the way. Basically we’re at mother nature’s mercy and wait to see what happens. They’re at the ready and as soon as we see any activity and if we see any sort of outages because of the weather we need to work as fast as we can,” said Wheeler.
Consumers Energy crews spend time clearing trees away from lines through the year to be prepared during hazardous Michigan weather.
Wheeler explains by saying, “we’ve seen fewer outages over time and fewer outages because we’ve been able to clear our power lines as much as we can.”
If there does happen to be any power outages, any down lines, anything of that nature, Consumers Energy will be out there for you to prepare those lines.
