Even as the Michigan State Spartans were in the locker room after losing 61-51 in their Final Four game to Texas Tech, crowds were gathering in East Lansing.

As 6 News digital reporter Ronnie Das was live on Facebook, street signs were torn down on Grand River near the Cedar Village Apartments and the crowds spilled out onto the roadway.

There have been unconfirmed reports of at least two couches being set on fire but no major fires have been reported.

There have been reports of arrests with police calling for transport vans to move the people who are in custody out of the area.

Earlier in the evening police officers gathered in East Lansing High School to coordinate for the evening.
