LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Another Black Friday and Small Business Saturday are in the books and now shoppers are gearing up for Cyber Monday.

Experts estimate more than $3 billion will be spent online and are predicting that it will be the largest Cyber Monday in history.

Fraud attempts are up 43% this year but here’s how you can avoid being a victim.

• Create multiple and unique passwords for each shopping site that you visit.

• Watch out for spoof apps by making sure that t store you want to spend with is spelled correctly.

• Use two-factor authentication which requires a password and another security feature such as a question or mobile number to complete a transaction.

• Never save your credit card information to any shopping site.

• Choose credit over debit when making online transactions, which allows you time to dispute un-known activity.

By following these tips you can reduce your chances of being a victim of cyber fraud.
