(WLNS) – Lansing Police responded to a driver who was speeding down I-496 West, and then crashed into a pole along W. St. Joseph Hwy and died.
Machinery was used on the car to remove the body from the wreckage, and police confirmed the driver died while still in the pinned car.
The crash into the pole also caused hundreds of power outages to Lansing Board of Water and Light customers along W. St. Joseph Highway, which was restored at 7 this morning.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim, or the cause of the crash.
