WLNS Web Staff - EAST LANSING, MI (WLNS) - Leading into the Gales of November, Michigan State University Museum's new exhibit explores shipping in the Great Lakes.
The exhibition looks at the shipping of iron ore on the Great Lakes with a focus on the variety of workers needed to keep the industry strong.
The exhibit features photographs, ship models and other objects.
There will also be several programs that take a look at the iron ore industry and its history on the Great Lakes.
"It's great to have these photographs as part of this exhibit because it shows an aspect of what it means to be working the iron ore trade that people often don't see," said John Beck, MSU, School of Human Resources and Labor Relations.
The exhibit starts Saturday, October 31 and runs through December 31.
