Heath officials: Watch out for norovirus spreading though Michigan

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – State health officials are back again warning Americans about norovirus. It’s a virus that causes vomiting, diarrhea and stomach cramping.

Norovirus is easily spread through food, person-to-person contact or by contaminated surfaces.

Officials say washing your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water is the best way to limit the spread of the the disease.

Symptoms start anywhere from 12 hours to three days after exposure.
