Horses killed in Clinton Co. barn fire

ELSIE, Mich. (WLNS) — Fire officials were on scene for hours battling a barn fire that killed several horses.

It happened around 10 p.m. Friday in the 3400 E Marshall Road in Elsie. Elsie is northeast of St. Johns.

St. Johns fire officials say no humans were injured, but there were horses inside the barn that died in the fire.

The barn was a total loss, officials say. A 6 News crew on scene could see flames shooting from the ruins of the barn.

Officials say the cause is under investigation, but it does not appear to be suspicious.
