If you travel regularly on I-96 in Ionia County you need to be aware of some major road work set to begin and the detours that will be in place while that work is done.
The Michigan Department of Transportation is replacing the Cutler Road bridge over I-96 and repaving 9.5 miles of road between Sunfied Road and the Ionia County line.
That work means there will be detours for both I-96 and Cutler Road drivers.
On I-96 vehicles will be rerouted on M-43, M-88 and Grand River Avenue. On Cutler Road drivers will be diverted to Grand River Avenue, Peake Road and Monroe Avenue.
The $9.4 million project is expected to be completed in October.
