Increased exercise and eating healthy to reduce obesity

32 percent of adults in Michigan are obese, but the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services hopes to create healthier communities.

Health officials are hoping to address the public health crisis by promoting the Michigan Health and Wellness 4 x 4 Plan.

The four healthy behaviors are maintaining a healthy diet, regular excercise, avoiding tobacco, and getting an annual physical exam.

According to the CDC one in four adults in the United States will die as a result of this cardiovascular disease in 2019.
