Jobs on the line..
The Ingham County Board of Commissioners is expected to vote on whether to fire two top animal control officials during a meeting tonight.
Ingham County Animal Control director, John Dinon and Assistant Director, Ann Burns have come under fire after a report was done showing animal control staff didn’t properly care for dogs seized from a fighting ring last year.
Two weeks ago, members of the Ingham County Law and Court’s Committee recommended that the County Controller suspend both Dinon and Burns with pay until the end of the investigation.
At last check, no one has been suspended yet.
However two animal rights groups claim the board may vote to fire Dinon and Burns during it’s meeting tonight.
Dinon has since listed steps the shelter will take to address concerns raised in the report.
Those include weighing animals held as evidence weekly and increasing training for new staff members.
The Board of Commissioners is set to meet tonight in Mason at 6:30pm.
