UN World Food Programme Wins Nobel Peace Prize

The United Nations World Food Hunger Program has won the Nobel Peace Prize for its efforts to combat hunger and food insecurity in regions of conflict and hardship around the world.

The organization provided assistance to nearly 100 million people in 88 countries around the world last year.

The Nobel committee said the problem of hunger is growing around the world and the COVID-19 pandemic has added to the hardship already faced by millions around the world.
