An overnight fire in a vacant commercial building in Jackson County has been put out.
Firefighters from six departments were called to Tyson Street between Roberts and Horton just after midnight when the flames were spotted.
The fire burned a nearby power pole, knocking out power to about 2,000 people in Jackson County.
The power is expected to be restored before 7:00 a.m.
There were no injuries reported at that fire and no cause has been determined yet.
While crews were fighting the Tyson Street fire another fire was reported on the 1300 block of Leroi Street in Jackson.
Firefighters from Jackson found a two-story house burning there.
The family had escaped safely but a dog was still inside the house.
A firefighter ran into the building and found the dog in a second floor bedroom.
They both escaped safely.
Investigators are working to determine what caused that fire.
