Judge Rules On St. Johns Donation Bin Controversy


ST JOHNS, MI (WLNS) – A federal appeals court has ruling against a mid-Michigan city trying to ban charity collection bins.

St. Johns which is about 40 minutes north of Lansing passed a law last year on banning donation bins because officials said they were becoming a problem However, the group Planet Aid sued the city calling the law unconstitutional.

A Grand Rapids judge sided with the group and on Monday a federal judge in Cincinnati agreed with the lower court judge.
