Lansing responds to GM announcement to stop Acadia production at Delta plant

(WLNS) – Lansing economists and GM workers say they have a positive outlook in response to GM’s announcement to stop Acadia production in Lansing.

Just months ago General Motors invested $520 million into Lansing’s Delta plant, and both an economist from LEAP and Mayor Virg Bernero say that means there is a commitment by GM to Lansing’s manufacturing.

Mayor Bernero says this decision was made at a business stand point, and Spring Hill, Tennessee’s gain is not Lansing’s loss.

Lansing’s Delta plant is waiting to hear from GM what the new line may be, but Bernero believes whatever it is, it won’t disappoint.
