Local dads hit the town to celebrate Father’s Day festivities

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – From scoping out the animals at Potter Park Zoo, to checking out what’s under the hood at the Mount Hope Church car show, or even hitting a few balls at the golf course…dads are out and about this Father’s day soaking up the sun and time with their families.

“It’s Father’s day, I get in for free and the girls love coming to the zoo so I drag them along,” Brian Gronowski said.

“Today’s a family day so we had family coming in to…look at the cars, eat food and be together,” local dad Bryan Janes mentioned.

And according to these dad’s, fatherhood in itself is a special gift they cherish.

“These two, I don’t know…that’s what it’s all about so…my wife went golfing with her dad and I took my kids to the zoo so it’s a good day I think,” Gronowski said.

“The responsibility of a dad and speaking life into your children, speaking blessings over your children…it’s such an honor and such a fantastic responsibility,” father Jason Mead humbly stated.

“Just watching them grow up and watching them learn and hopefully be a good role model for your children,” Lansing dad David Lee said.

But the best part about being a parent, at least to these dads is…

“Seeing the smiley faces when they’re getting along,” Jim Whitney mentioned.

“The best part about being a dad overall is the results,” Janes stated.

“Probably one of the best parts about being a father is your get to be a grandfather after that and there’s nothing better than grandkids,” Local dad Dan Sowle said.
