LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - A Texas family is on their way to Lansing after they learned of a shooting that killed a loved one.
Students who live at the "25 East" apartment complex say someone shot the victim after an argument, and a few people drove off before police arrived.
We reported earlier today that an MSU student was shot around 2:45 a.m. this morning at the complex. He died later at the hospital.
A spokesperson from the apartment complex told us this afternoon that the man did not live at the apartments, but was visiting at the time he was shot.
The East Lansing Police Department has not released that student's name. We know that he was a twenty-two year old man from Texas.
"I saw about three or four people run literally right after the gunshot right across here," MSU student Luciano Giovannone told 6 News.
"You could hear the car start up and then like get out of the parking spot," MSU student Jake Roell said. "And they like peeled out. I mean you could hear tires squealing. And you could tell someone was trying to get out of here as fast as possible."
Residents said this isn't the first shooting at that complex. Police say the public is not in danger at this point.
