LANSING, Mich (WLNS) - The calendar says July but for football players and fans the season is right around the corner.
This Saturday the Gridiron Institute and the Lansing Police are teaming up for a free football camp at the LPD's south side Operations Center on Wise Road.
The registration opens at 8:00 a.m., camp starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m.
The camp, open to kids 6-14 years old, will be coached by former and current NFL stars including Clarence Love, Ron Rice and Lansing's own Damian Gregory.
According to a news release the goal of the Gridiron Institute is to provide healthy life choices in addition to athletic training and academic empowerment.
