A section of High Street in the City of Jackson will close for nearly a week starting tomorrow for construction.
Starting Saturday, May 18th both directions of High Street will be closed from West Avenue to Randolph Street.
The Engineering Division will be installing a sewer for a new business that is currently under construction on this street and any pavement, curbs or sidewalks will be completely removed and replaced once construction is complete.
The shut down will effect an entrance to Cascade Falls Park as well as impact Frost Elementary School and the West Avenue business district.
This two block stretch is heavily traveled so drivers are asked to plan for the closure and follow detours.
Crews plan to have the street back open by Friday, May 24th.
