The Jackson City Council added a new member.
Kelsey Heck was announced as the city’s new Fifth Ward representative on the Council.
Heck will fill the seat formerly held by Andrew Frounfelker.
He stepped down in June, amid Felony Assault charges for attacking his ex-girlfriend.
The council voted 4 to 2 in favor of Heck’s appointment.
She beat out 8 other candidates who interviewed during last night’s special meeting.
Heck is a 2-year resident of the Fifth Ward and will hold the seat for the reminder of Frounfelkers term, which ends in 2021.
The 25-year old’s first meeting as a council member is tonight at their regularly scheduled meeting.
It starts at 6:30 pm in Jackson City Hall and the meeting is open to the public.
