It’s a felony assault charge.
Prosecutors say the 45-year-old victim is hospitalized with serious facial injuries and she may have been strangled.
“We have a case where the victim reported to the hospital with five facial fractures, along with other injuries,” said Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Nathan Hull. “There’s some information we have that this is not the first time the defendant has committed this defense.”
Frounfelker’s attorney entered a not guilty plea on his client’s behalf.
“I understand the allegation. My client denies those. There are no prior convictions against my client,” said defense attorney Alfred Brandt.
The judge gave him a $15,000 bond.
Frounfelker remains behind bars.
He’ll be back in court next month for a hearing.
So far there’s been no official response from city administration on this assault charge.
