St. Johns man charged with 12 felonies after shooting at police

Police have released more information about an incident yesterday where they say a suspect fired shots at police.

That suspect has been identified as Brent Emerson Martinez, 37,  from St. Johns.

He is being charged with 12 felonies, including making a false report or threat of terrorism, shooting a firearm at a building and four counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.

Police were called out to North Clinton Avenue yesterday morning for a suicidal man who was threatening violence.

Police say Martinez fired shots at officers, who did not return fire, but was eventually convinced to surrender.
