This Morning: Mason is set for Independence Day Parade

MASON, Mich (WLNS) - There are some great traditions associated with the July 4th celebration.

Certainly fireworks, picnics and parades are a big part of the holiday.

In mid-Michigan one of the biggest parades is in Mason.

The Independence Day Parade, which steps off at 7:30 p.m., is a long-standing tradition that brings out people from all around the area to join in the festivities.

Douglas Klein of the Mason Chamber of Commerce stopped in to 6 News This Morning to talk with Bonney Bowman about this year's parade and what makes this such a special event.

Lansing will hold its Independence Day Parade through the downtown at 11 a.m. and Eaton Rapids has its parade scheduled for 11 a.m. on July 4th.
