Thousands of MSU students graduate this weekend

EAST LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – This is going to be a busy weekend in East Lansing as Michigan State University hosts commencement ceremonies for nearly 8,000 students.

Most will graduate today, in fact, ceremonies start at 1:00 p.m.

Nearly 6,000 students will participate in the undergraduate ceremonies. 

They’ll hear from guest speaker Kirk Cousins, a former Spartan quarterback, who’s currently playing in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer is scheduled to address more than 2,000 advanced degree students today.

That ceremony starts at 3:30 p.m.
