Two Lansing men jailed on human trafficking charges

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WLNS)  - After a joint police investigation, two Lansing men are currently in the Calhoun County Jail related to charges including human trafficking.

The two men, Alexander Murray, 34 and Kevin Nemeth, 39, were arraigned on Friday afternoon.

On January 4, the Battle Creek Police Department received information regarding the use of drugs and prostitution at an area hotel. They arrested Murray on warrants out of Arizona and Nemeth fled the scene.

This led police to Lansing on a human trafficking investigation in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

In Lansing, the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office, Lansing Police Department, and Michigan State Police First District Fugitive Team assisted in the investigation.

As a result, police saved two victims.

No further details about the victims are being released at this time. If we learn more, we will make sure you update you right here on wlnc.com.
