UPDATE: Baby’s body found; Search is on for missing Lansing woman

UPDATE (4:23 p.m.) – The Lansing Police have found the body of a missing newborn girl who was reported missing Monday. 

The body was found today when police found the missing vehicle of a missing woman, Ashley Rae Shade, parked in the 100 block of E. Kilborn Street. 

The woman has not been located and there was no other person in the car.

An autopsy will be conducted on the baby’s body to determine the cause of death.

According to police Shade gave birth to the baby within the past week.

ORIGINAL STORY: Lansing police are looking for a local woman and her newborn baby. 

The missing woman is Ashley Shade, 35, of Lansing.

Police say the woman was last seen yesterday with her daughter near the intersection of South Washington Avenue and Holmes Road on the city’s south side.

Shade is 5’8″ tall, has light brown hair and blue eyes. 

She might be driving a silver 2002 Toyota Camry.

Call 9-1-1 if you’ve seen her or have any information that would help find the woman.
