UPDATE (6:17 p.m.) – We’re here for you tonight with an update involving a mid-Michigan homicide. A Holt woman accused of killing her husband was back in court today along with her boyfriend, who police say helped her with the crime.
35-year-old Ammar Al-Yasari was found dead in his Holt home last month. Less than a week later, police arrested 27-year-old Jacob Ficher in connection with his death.
Not long after that, Al-Yasari’s wife, Bdour Al-Yasari was arrested and charged with Ammar’s murder.
After six hours of presenting evidence in court today, the judge determined there is enough evidence to continue in this case.
Bodour Al-Yasari waived her right for a preliminary hearing, but Ficher, who’s charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder, was defended by his lawyer.
Ten witnesses took the stand today in a Mason courtroom, sharing what they know leading to the death of 35-year-old Ammar Al-Yasari.
In a mesage thread prior to Al-Yasari’s death, his wife Bdour was talking to Ficher.
One of the messages read, “Why doesn’t something bad happen to him?”
It’s still unclear exactly how Al-Yasari was killed, but the medical examiner says he had at least 24 wounds on his face and neck.
Witnesses say Ficher went to a nearby bar two days after the murder, telling the bartender he committed a homicide.
Detectives also mentioned Al-Yasari’s house smelled like bleach when they first arrived.
Both Bdour and Ficher will be back in court on April 3rd.
