UPDATE: Lansing murder suspect arrested in Mississippi

UPDATE (March 22 3:47 p.m.) – A Lansing man wanted for murder has been arrested in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Kyvon Wells, 20, was arrested after being sought in connection with the shooting death of Delayno Hudson, 24, of Lansing earlier this month.

Wells was arrested by U.S. Marshals and the Gulfport Police.

Lansing Police Detectives worked with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Michigan State Police
1st District Fugitive Team to coordinate the arrest of Wells.

Wells will now be extradited to Michigan to be arraigned in District Court.

ORIGINAL STORY – The Lansing Police have identified a suspect in the shootings last Friday that claimed the life of one man and left two other men injured.

The search is on tonight for Kyvon Wells, 20, of Lansing.

Police tell 6 News that Wells is wanted for Open Murder and three other felonies stemming from the shootings in the 1600 block of Doc Strong Friday night.

Delayno Hudson, 24, of Lansing died of his injuries over the weekend.

On Friday officers were called to the 1600 Block of Doc Strong in the Mill Pond Village Trailer Park after a car crashed into another car about 5:45 p.m.

When police arrived officers found out soon afterward that four men had been inside the crashed car. 

The trailer park sits just north of the Lansing boundary with Holt Township.
