UPDATE: Morrice man who died in I-69 head-on crash identified

UPDATE: The name of the victim is James Ware, 51,  according to Lt. Cory Carson of the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities are still investigating the fatal accident and anyone with information regarding the accident is urged to call 989-743-3411 extension 7223.

ORIGINAL STORY: An early morning crash has claimed the life of a Morrice man in Shiwassee County.

The crash happened just after 4:30 a.m. today on I-69 near Bath Road.

Investigators say a pickup truck was traveling west when it left the road, crossed the median and crashed head-on with a semi-truck heading east.

The 51-year-old driver of the pickup was thrown from the truck into the path of an oncoming car.

That car did not stop and the Sheriff’s Office is asking the driver, or anyone else with information,  to contact them at 989-743-3411.

The name of the victim has not been released.
