UPDATE: Police ID woman who died following wrong-way crash on U.S. 127

UPDATE (Monday 9:25 a.m.) – The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office has release the name of the woman who died in a head-on crash Sunday.  Keara Bullen, 19, of Mason, was the driver of the car that left the northbound lane on U.S. 127 near Taft Road and smashed into an oncoming vehicle.  A total of three vehicles were involved with minor injuries to people in the other cars.

BINGHAM TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS) – Clinton County Sheriff’s officials are investigating are multi-vehicle crash that left a 19-year-old Mason woman dead.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday on U.S. 127 near Taft Road in Bingham Township.

Officials say when they arrived, there were three vehicles involved in the crash as well as several other vehicles in a ditch that avoided the crash.

Sheriff’s officials say a northbound vehicle lost control and went through the median, striking two southbound vehicles.

The Mason woman was driving one of the southbound vehicles and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger in that vehicle was treated and released.

The other vehicles consisted of a silver Dodge Avenger occupied by four people and all were transported to Sparrow Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, and a white Kia occupied by four people that were treated and released at the scene.

This crash is still under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Michigan State Police, Clinton County Central Dispatch, and St. Johns Fire and Rescue.
