JACKSON CO., Mich (WLNS) - A woman is fighting for her life this morning after a semi-truck full of pigs crashed into her SUV in Jackson County.
It happened just after 2:30 yesterday afternoon in Hanover Township south of Jackson.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office the woman was driving east on Hanover Road.
She stopped at the stop sign and then turned in front of a semi traveling on Moscow Road.
The semi flipped over on its side after hitting the SUV, blocking both lanes.
The woman was taken to a local hospital where she has been listed as critical condition.
The semi driver is expected to recover.
The trailer was carrying about a 100 pigs at the time.
According to our media partners at the Jackson Citizen Patroit at least half of the pigs died or had to be put down.
The remaining pigs were taken to a nearby farm but officers say some could still be running loose.
