Michigan State Police say a man was critically injured after crashing his vehicle into a tree Wednesday night.

It happened at 10:40 p.m. near the intersection of Lansing Road and Vermontville Highway, near the City of Potterville in Eaton County.

The initial investigation shows the 63-year-old Lansing man lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree. He was taken to an area hospital where he is in critical condition.

Troopers are investigating the crash, but say they do not believe alcohol was a factor.
