MARSHALL, Mich. (WLNS) — Marshall High School and Walters Elementary have cleared their lockdowns.
Marshall Public Schools released a statement shortly after 10 a.m. announcing that the precautionary search by law enforcement was completed, and that the lockdown was lifted.
Marshall High School is closed for the remainder of the day.
Parents were notified Friday morning that Marshall High School went on lockdown.
The message said the lockdown is due to reported gunshots heard in the area. Anyone inside the building was instructed to follow internal lockdown procedures.
Anyone outside the building was not allowed on campus. Busses diverted students to planned alternate locations. Police were onsite.
