MI Petroleum Pipeline task force report to be released

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Whether construction needs to be done on some pipelines running under our great state remains to be seen but today we are expecting new details on the condition of those pipes.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette and Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Director Dan Wyant will be in Lansing later today to release the state’s petroleum pipeline task force report.

Back in June of last year, both men announced the creation of a multi-agency task force that would eliminate pipelines transporting petroleum products around the state. The task force started with a larger focus on the pipeline running under the straits of Mackinaw.

Stay with 6, our capitol correspondent Tim Skubick is working this story today and will have reaction for the attorney general tonight on 6 News.
