Lansing Police say they’ve arrested a man accused of shooting a pregnant woman.

A spokesman tells 6 News an 18-year-old is in custody after the Monday night crime.

It happened just after 11 p.m. along the 3200 block of Reo Road.

Police say the woman was sitting in a car with several other people when a man walked up to them and got in an argument. The 20-year-old woman who was hit was apparently not the target.

The woman, who was pregnant, was taken to the hospital. She’s in critical condition.

Doctors delivered the baby, who survived.

Police say their report will go to the prosecutor Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.
