Attorney general warns of face mask exemption cards

Michigan

Attorney General Dana Nessel and the Better Business Bureau are warning people to be on the lookout for fraudulent cards, which are being used to falsely claim exemptions from wearing a face mask.

They may have logos of prominent organizations, or even the Department of Justice printed on them. They also use language that sounds official and may claim requiring the holder to wear a mask violates the law.

These cards are not legitimate and are not endorsed by the Department of Justice.
