The heat index temperatures will be in the mid to upper nineties
for the weekend and on Monday, triggering this year’s first activation of the “It’s a Cool Thing to Do” program.
When heat and humidity are predicted to reach dangerous
levels in mid-Michigan, community organizations and businesses
throughout the Tri-County area can lean on cooling centers to welcome those who do not have a place to go to cool off.
Free rides to cooling centers are available to those with a physical and financial need through CATA, Clinton Area Transit and EATRAN, during their normal operating hours.
