Crews respond to large fire in Williamstown Township

UPDATE: 5/3/2021 @ 11:58 P.M. (WLNS) — Fire officials tell 6 News that a pole barn/warehouse type structure is a total loss, after a fire started there around 10 a.m. this morning.

Neighbors passing by told the homeowner the building was on fire, who then called for help. Six different fire departments responded to the incident.

It’s not known what caused the fire at this time.

WILLIAMSTOWN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLNS)– Fire crews responded to a fire on Monday morning, in the 700 block of Barry Road, just west of Foster Road.

According to the 6 News team on the scene, the fire appears to be a barn or storage building of some kind.

Multiple fire departments responded to the fire.

Barry Road is closed at this time, and motorist are asked to avoid the area.
