The Democratic National Committee today announced that the second presidential primary debate will be held in Detroit in July.
CNN, CNN International, and CNN en Español will broadcast the debates live, which are scheduled for July 30 and 31.
“Detroit embodies the values and character of the Democratic Party,” said DNC Chair Tom Perez. “It’s a city of grit and determination, a city that has gotten knocked down only to get back up stronger.”
The debate lineups for each night will be set at random to provide each candidate with as much of an opportunity to make their case to a national audience.
There are still details to be worked out.
The venue, moderators, communication accessibility, and timing will be announced at a later date.
