In the same day that General Motors reported billions of dollars in profits, union members at the giant automaker were told the amount of their profit sharing checks.
General Motors reported its fourth quarter 2018 earnings on Wednesday, and the automaker made a pre-tax profit of $10.8 billion.
That figure is down from 2017 pre-tax profits, which were $11.9 billion, and reflects an 8.3 percent drop.
As part of their contract, UAW members will receive $10,769 in their profit sharing check.
That’s down from last year’s $11,750 check.
The amount of the check is directly tied to GM’s North American profits for the year.
